This Standing Stone is not at it's original place. The original place was near the village Krosigk, 15 km northwardly of it's todays position beside the "Landesmuseum für Vorgeschichte Halle" (Statemuseum of prehistory).

The inscription "Aktivistenstein - Ruhm und Ehre dem schaffenden Volke" means "Stone of the activists - glory and honor to the working people". It was painted by the government of the GDR.
