Bumannsburg submitted by Harald_Platta on 12th Aug 2021. The Bumannsburg is an early defensive earthwork situated in Bergkamen (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany). It was most likely build by Charlemagne around 800 AD in the context of the Saxon war.

One of the round barrows was reconstructed. The mound is connected to a 40 m long double row of timber posts that might have served as procession way (Dromos).

Sieben Gräben submitted by Harald_Platta on 10th Dec 2021. The hillfort Sieben Gräben ("Seven Ditches") is located on Schleipenberg hill in Hagen (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany).
The fortification consists of a triple rampart-ditch system around an interior space of 21 m in diameter. In the north there is an additional protection by a neck ditch.
