Only the top is visible, the lower parts are obscured by the sloping terrain in the foreground. The other barrows are even more difficult to see. The trees background left indicate another barrow. Sinsener Wallburg submitted by Harald_Platta on 27th Feb 2022. The Sinsener Wallburg is a fortification in Marl (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany). It consists of a central rampart system and an outer rampart. Discovered potsherds date from the 8th century and suggest that the fortification was built by the carolingians.
The picture shows the area of the outer rampart in the south-west.

Sievern Hügelgrab (2) submitted by CharcoalBurner89 on 23rd Jul 2021. This tumulus is difficult to see. By creating the meadow, it was almost completely leveled. However, a small elevation in the meadow can still be clearly seen at the described point.

Siedlung an der Universitätsstrasse submitted by dodomad on 14th Nov 2016. The remains of an ancient settlement were discovered on a modern construction site in Bochum (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany) in October 2016.
Several outlines of houses, post holes and pits were found.It us currently assumed that the setlement is 4000 years old and could represent one of the few known Bronze Age settlements in this area.
The excavations are still ongoing.

Sieben Gräben submitted by Creative Commons on 10th Dec 2021. The hillfort Sieben Gräben ("Seven Ditches") is located on Schleipenberg hill in Hagen (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany).
The fortification consists of a triple rampart-ditch system around an interior space of 21 m in diameter. In the north there is an additional protection by a neck ditch.

Like nearly all other dead of the Sengkofen LBK (Linear Pottery Culture) cemetery, the man of grave No. 24 is lying on his left side with flexed feet. A stone axe was buried with him as a grave good. The piece of deer horn near his hips had belonged to his clothing.

The well and also the park have been destroyed in World War II. Today, this site lies under the driving surface of a street.

Sahlenburg Achtern Kugelfang Huegelgraeberfeld submitted by Andreas on 8th Mar 2011. This relatively well preserved barrow is situated at the southwestern edge of the cemetery, close to the crossing of two paths.
The barrow's diameter is about 15 metres, and the remaining height about 2 m.
It's overgrown with small oaks.
