Findlingsgruppe Ludgeristraße submitted by Harald_Platta on 10th Feb 2019. The monument is located near Ludgeristraße in Billerbeck (North Rhine-Westphalia/Germany). It consists of several boulders stacked on top of each other.
The site was dedicated as a memorial for Albert Leo Schlageter in 1934 and later in 1953 as a memorial for prisoner of war. The last inscriptions were removed
in 1956.

It is speculated that the site was already important for the Germanic tribes.

Baiuvarian Cemetery Herrsching submitted by Harald_Platta on 4th Oct 2019. The Baiuvarian cemetery dates from the 7th century and is located in the Archaeological Park in Herrsching am Ammersee (Bavaria, Germany).
Grave No. 9 contained the bones of a man (ca. 30-40 years old) and grave goods from the early 7th century.

Museum Alte Kulturen submitted by Harald_Platta on 5th Oct 2019. The Museum Alte Kulturen (“Museum of Ancient Cultures”) is located in Hohentübingen Castle in Tübingen (Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany).
The museum displays finds from the prehistoric and ancient time of the area as well as collections from ancient assyria, greece, egypt and rome.
It is especially famous for the oldest known pieces of art from the UNESCO World Heritage sites Caves and Ice Age Art in Swabian Jura.

Mehringer Steine 1 submitted by Martin_L on 5th Feb 2010. Site viewed from the East. Remains of a 7 (or 6) capstone megalithic tomb measuring appr. 14m x 3,5m originally with oval enclosure. The latter being completely destroyed except for one kerbstone remaining in the South-east. At least 3 capstones are robbed, another one is damaged by blasting attempts. The remaining capstones collapsed into the chamber. The chamber is partly embedded into the remains of the oval barrow. April 2009

It has been speculated whether it might have been a part of a pagan sanctuary. The name (Grote = the Great = Odin) could support this possible connection.

Summstein Holthausen submitted by Harald_Platta on 31st Jul 2020. The Summstein ("Humming Stone") is a modern stone sculpture in Mülheim an der Ruhr (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany). The stone carries the inscriptions of the names of the people that have been burried in this part of the cemetery wood without further grave markings. Another standing stone has been erected close by, possibly as a future second Summstein.

Several legends are associated with the lake. It has been speculated that it might have been a part of a Germanic sanctuary.

Großer Stein am Röhrberg submitted by Harald_Platta on 6th Aug 2020. The Großer Stein am Röhrberg is a stone described in local legends. It is thought to be located on Röhrberg hill in Bönen (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany).
The picture shows a boulder that is unusually big for this area. It has been found in the woods on Röhrberg hill and was brought down to the street at the food of the hill in 1965. It is not known, if exactly this individual boulder is linked to the original legends.

Several information panels remind of the Roman past of this area. The picture shows parts of the remains of the small arena near the fortification.
