It may date 400 BC. The picture depicts a detail of an information panel in the village center of Altenwalde. It shows a cut through the rampart made during excavations. Midlum Henkenstein submitted by Martin_L on 29th Oct 2007. This is the western end of a chambered tomb. One large capstone and 3 orthostats are still in place so it looks like a dolmen, although it is not. There are significant remains of the barrow. It is also referred to as Sprockhoff No. 606. According to his research (Atlas der Megalithgräber Teil 3, Textband Page 3) the tomb originally had a length of 6-8m.
