It is situated in Quellenbusch forest in Bottrop (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany). Picture taken in January 2017. The visitor has to put the head into the hole of the stone and breath out in a humming tone. The echoed vibrations are felt within the body of the visitor. © Platta 2017

Großer Summstein submitted by Harald_Platta on 30th Jan 2017. The Großer Summstein ("Big Humming Stone") is a modern stone sculpture by Hugo Kükelhaus in Herten (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany). It measures 450 x 60 x 110 cm. The visitor has to put the head into one of the two holes of the stone. The person has to breath out with a humming tone. The sound waves are reflected by the stone and are supposed to be felt as vibrations within the body of the visitor. Picture taken in January 2017. © Platta 2017
