Cockit Hill submitted by h_fenton on 7th Aug 2010. Cockit Hill (promontory fort/enclosure) viewed from the south. In the foreground the bank is visible by the fact that the heather is flowering on it. beyond the bank the interpretation of the fort is that it only extends around the nearest rock outcrops.
To the right of the picture a path comes up the hillside to the end of the rampart/bank - there appears to be some small steps cut into the rock here so that it is easier to climb up onto the top of the spur, it also looks like there has b...

Trefin Modern Stone Circle submitted by h_fenton on 5th Feb 2008. Trefin Modern Stone Circle, I suspect that this prominent nearby standing stone, 330m west at roughly SM828324 is modern too. I have been unable to find any records of it.
To get to it just walk a bit futher west along the coastpath.

Cairn 1 is on the right side of the photo, the OS trig point here is built of stone so it is difficult to see. just below the cairn is a small patch of yellow. this is the backpack of a mountainbiker who is sitting on the ground out of the wind, if you look very closely just to the left you can see his mountain bike for scale.
Cairn 2 is to the left of cairn 1 , but is difficult to see.
