Log Text: A bit of a squeeze getting past the collapse in the entrance passage, this shouldn't collapse further since it has been propped up with stones which make the passage narrower at this point than it was originally. Biggest dangers inside are side chambers, partially collapsed and broken lintels that are unsupported. Fantastic site, could do with a few metal bars to help stabilize the stonework in places so that it is safer for those who dare enter inside. Fairly new looking fence has been put up around the long mound. Would be great so see some further archaeological examination of this site (if health & safety ever allows).

Canmore 59948 describes some decoration on the hogback, but there was nothing we could see. The stone was almost buried in knee high grass that covered the site.

Face a of the cross head of AS Corpus Woodhorn 01, described as: "There is a flat central roundel cleverly composed of a central motif of two intersecting loops which spin out into intersecting circles of interlaced strands. The upper arm has a split plait motif, in which the strands are bent into a V shape between the four end knots and the diagonal strand becomes an edge strand. On the right arm is a ring-knot of two concentric rings crossed diagonally by two closed circuit loops. On the left ...
