Dolmen de Axeitos submitted by ernar on 30th Sep 2004. The Dolmen de Axeitos is one of the most beautiful portal tombs in Galicia. In this case, the reforested eucaliptus shiled the site from the populated surroundings. Note to the editor: This picture should be linked with the 'Axeitos' Dolmen in Spain. The enigmatic Gallarus Oratory on the Dingle Peninsula, Co. Kerry, Ireland. The date of it's construction is a matter for debate: some scholars put it around 600AD and others as late as 1200AD. Not pre-historic, but interesting.
