Log Text: Walked over from below Bryn Bwbach, the valley is amazing. Took a ‘short cut’ at Coetty-maur up to the main path higher up at Y Gym. This path is a bit sploshy but not boggy. The weather was dire grey cold windy wet. I would have liked to stay longer but the wind was just grim.
I counted 26 pointy stones, 2 were next to each other. Seeing it on the hillside is a welcome sight after a long trek.

Log Text: i got to the car park fairly early so managed to get an hour at the site by myself which was lovely.
a woman turned up and started walking round and round looking very serious and superior.
Then some German tourists turned up, had not researched their visit and flew their drone around high and then right down low over us. Really irritating. I was fairly abrupt to them in a very anglosaxon manner. this amused the walking around woman.
At least ask people if they mind being filmed not just film them without asking. very rude and against drone guidance. It's a CADW listed site so has a no drone policy. I could have brought my drone and got some great shots. it seems it is old fashioned to be polite.
so. mixed feelings on the site. great site. and most visitors are respectful.

Bryn Gwyn Stones submitted by petelovespurple on 24th Apr 2012. I'd been to see Castell Bryn Gwyn, noticed the stones marked on the map, when I got there discovered there was a dig going on, they had found the base of one of the destroyed stones plus stone holes for other stones, I'd have thought there would be more info here......

Caer Bach submitted by TimPrevett on 22nd Aug 2004. A view down on to Caer Bach, showing its prominent place above the Conwy Valley.
This is taken ascending Tal y Fan mountain.
There is a conspicuously white stone just left of centre; this stone is very large, and of different character than the other stones.
In the valley below within the picture (but not visible) is the Roman port and fort of Canovium - an essential link in their North Wales strongholds.

Log Text: a chambered tomb, open to the NE. large capstone and supports, with one area without an upright has drystone wall instead. to the rear of the capstone is another large stone-looks like a collapsed capstone half in the ground. so i'm thinking this has two chambers.

Callanish 3 submitted by Andy B on 13th Nov 2022. Bruce Adams, one of our members since 2012, sadly died last month - he had motor neurone disease. Bruce wrote: "Over the years I have assembled albums recording my visits to stone circles and related sites. I would very much like to pass these on to someone who will appreciate them. I am not asking for payment and only have a desire to see them go to a good home. I would rather not see them broken up and dispersed."
I am currently looking after Bruce's albums and will be sharing some of the...
