Log Text: One stone is missing, and a couple may be in the wrong position. a good circle though. the flankers are smart.

The blurb on the board says 'RSCs are on crests of hills with a southerly views'.
But.. Midmar is below the crest and has a long view down the valley easterly!
Ones on tops of hills have 360 degree views (eg Tomnaverie, Aikey )
The recumbents are all on the southern quarter.

Mitchell's Fold

Mitchell's Fold submitted by Orpbit on 21st Mar 2025. The Lion Roared at Mitchell's Fold stone circle on the Equinox and I roared back. After 14 years of researching the site I finally got the one image I really wanted. Almost perfect weather, yet I was the only one there to observe sunrise on this Spring Equinox of 2025, except for a local couple doing a morning walk, who caught up with me walking down the track back to my car. Pity we didn't bump into each other before the sunrise, as I had spare eclipse glasses too. And for me it beat even Stone...

Moel Ty Uchaf submitted by DJMace on 9th Nov 2020. Very nice example of a cairn circle in a spectacular location and well worth the hike. A straight walk up the hill along a rough track after passing through two metal gates. Continue on up and the circle is on left hand side. You won't be disappointed.

Nether Largie South

Nether Largie South submitted by Fairycake on 26th Sep 2020. Looking towards the cairn from the south with the large cist in the foreground. This is by far the biggest cist I have seen. There are several inserted into earlier monuments near to here, apart from this, showing these sites continued to have significance over a long period of time.
