Kilmartin House submitted by DrewParsons on 29th Jun 2010. Located in the middle of the village of Kilmartin, the museum has a good display of local finds and interesting descriptions of the prehistoric sites in the neighbourhood. There is also a well stocked museum shop on the premises.

Log Text: All very new posh presentation showing through the ages.
If you like a romantic Lord of the rings type view of the Neolithic, with ‘ceremonial’ musical accompaniment you’ll love it. You may go away with the idea that all neolithic people did was stand around chanting and burning things.
If you ever went to the old museum you will miss the coracle, lithophone and swan bone flute.

Log Text: similar burial cairn to Mid Gleniron 1 with cists NE NW SE and SW. in an enclosed valley, with only far views to hills to the NE. Built on a (probable) drumlin/glacial hillock, of which there are several in the area.
