The tour guide was up to date and covered the neolithic and much later norse visitors and runes. There is a very good article on the passage alignment in the 2023 issue of the Orkney Archaeology review £10.
https://shop.orkneyarchaeologysociety.org.uk/product-category/books/
Their website has lots more info on Maes and Orkney and it is only £15 to join, £10 for pensioners (you get sent the annual review)

Log Text: fortuitous meeting with a geologist there-almost all the stones are of similar igneous, typical 'granite' type. Two are finer grained with striations, and the 'jasper' stone is a very different type, probably slower cooling. Views of the peak of Bennache to WNW.
Tyrebagger
Date Added: 8th Jul 2023
Site Type: Stone Circle
Country: Scotland (Aberdeenshire)
Visited: Yes on 7th Jul 2023. My rating: Condition 3 Access 3

Tyrebagger submitted by Suncircle49 on 15th Aug 2022. Collection of photos of the recumbent 16-21/6/19: Canmore describes Tyrebagger with ‘a fallen recumbent’, but my first impressions, it’s a ‘Dolmen’. The recumbent and its flanker’s are very different to any existing RSC in Aberdeenshire. Its alternative name DYCE which is very similar to DYSSE meaning ‘Dolmen’. A recumbent on stone mounts…. a Dolmen?

Loanhead Of Daviot submitted by Suncircle49 on 23rd Aug 2022. 19/06/2019 08.41: A beautiful sunny morning, perfect for flying a drone. The aerial photos showed clearly the shadow in the slit of the recumbent, ending midway along its length. However, what was interesting was the shadows of the standing stones which touched the inner ring of the RSC. The next morning at Easter Aquhorthies I saw similar shadows.

Log Text: the 3.2m quartz outer is an imposing stone. lichen does not seem to grow on quartz, so it is bare rock. The landowner is very proud of it and said that in the full moonlight the stone gleams. it would have been a beacon from afar.

Log Text: i parked up the road in an empty farm yard. it's about a km walk from there, along an old track (don't block this). no gates. the site is more overgrown than old photos, but someone cuts the grass now and then. Take care as it is lumpy stones under the long grass. The stones seem to be local rock, as i saw several red granite, quartz and mica encrusted stones in the field walls and clearance dumps. quite an exotic feel.
the stones are verging on monumental. a red granite west and quartz east. the west flanker is quartz and the recumbent's top is a fat quartz vein. other stones are notable for their 'pointy' ness.
