Standing on the platform of the Almogarén I felt as if I was on the bridge of an immense and steady ship; the little mound with its cave was the bow and the top of Bentayga the sails behind me. The Neolithic artefact, which dates back to ca.3200 B.C. was found at Tarxien Temples. It clearly represents two people hugging each other with their faces very close to each other, possibly kissing. This unique figure is, to date, the only artefact dating to the Maltese Neolithic period which shows human emotions immortalized through artistic expression."
