Sanctuary of Athena Lindia submitted by CoppellaiaMatta on 21st May 2025. 'The relief stern of a warship (triemiolia) served as the base of a bronze portrait statue of Hagesandros son of Mikion, whom the Lindians honoured on the occasion of a naval victory of the Rhodians. The stern of the warship, which preserves traces of red pigment, is rendered in detail, with the aphlaston at the right end and the richly bedecked captain's seat in the form of a bird's wing. Discernible on the back of the base, within a small temple (naiskos), is a standing female figure with kala...

Roque Bentaiga submitted by CoppellaiaMatta on 16th Jan 2025. Pic taken from the Almogarén on Roque Bentayga, looking back at the top of the Roque.
Standing on the platform of the Almogarén I felt as if I was on the bridge of an immense and steady ship; the little mound with its cave was the bow and the top of Bentayga the sails behind me.
