'The relief stern of a warship (triemiolia) served as the base of a bronze portrait statue of Hagesandros son of Mikion, whom the Lindians honoured on the occasion of a naval victory of the Rhodians. The stern of the warship, which preserves traces of red pigment, is rendered in detail, with the aphlaston at the right end and the richly bedecked captain's seat in the form of a bird's wing. I think it would be nice to have some information points to help people understand the landscape they are moving in, as part of the redevelopment.

Standing on the platform of the Almogarén I felt as if I was on the bridge of an immense and steady ship; the little mound with its cave was the bow and the top of Bentayga the sails behind me. Around me, thanks to the steep drop of the mountain side, I could imagine a deep sea, made of air, separating me from the "coast" of the volcanic caldera of Tejeda.
