Wanna Steingrab (11b) submitted by Andreas on 23rd Sep 2009. The reconstructed tomb at Osterwanna: Due to the threat of sinking into the marshy soil the remains of the tomb were transferred to Wanna. Here the chamber was reconstructed. The recent localisation is close to the school at Osterwanna, a few meters north of the Landesstraße (L 118), about 100 meters west of the sports field. The reconstruction shows a "5 yokes-chamber", consisting of 5 capstones, 10 supporting stones at the long sides and 2 further uprights at the narrow sides. There's...

Log Text: I was finally able to visit this place. Historically rich in different eras, this area is wonderful for a hike. The tumuli were my highlight. A total of 18 have been preserved here.

Log Text: The circular rampart is badly damaged by the heavy vegetation. However, the former rampart still stands out clearly from the forest floor and can easily be seen when approaching the coordinates in the forest.
