Stithians Cupmarked Stones submitted by MikeAttwell on 31st Jul 2022. The largest of the cup marked stones. This stone appears to have been broken into three pieces, two of which are cup marked. One could speculate that this was a cup marked standing stone which fell and broke into three pieces.

Its a cracking little barrow, with the most wonderful passage and chambers inside, and the powers that be have even left a decent sized area around it free of any farming activity. A lovely sunny day, but some of the walk to the barrow was horrendously muddy.
The fields around the barrow had recently been ploughed, a crop of beet of some sort having been the last grown. While walking back after my visit, I found a bit of the lovely golden colou...

Log Text: Access from rhiw footpath deliberately blocked by landowner - footpath not accessible because of barbed wire / blocked field entrances/ ‘ no footpath ‘ signs..
Thus visible only from a distance on this route ( there is another path which runs close) - but in many ways this dustant view ver impressive as you rarely see two dolmens/longcairns together

Temple Wood S submitted by funsize on 4th Jun 2007. This is a cracking site. Large cobble mound with slivers of upright slabs and a central cist. Very accessible and one of many impressive sites within a small area of the Kilmartin Valley. This shows the larger cairn, there is a smaller one ringed by trees a stones throw to the south west.
