El Centro de Interpretación del Megalitismo de Gorafe

Site Type: Museum
Country: Spain (Andalucía)
Visited: Would like to visit
El Centro de Interpretación del Megalitismo de Gorafe submitted by TimPrevett on 21st Jan 2013. The centrepiece of the centre is a huge half sphere, reflected in mirrors so it appears a whole sphere, in the centre of dark room, with a spiral staircase around the room's interior. Images are projected on to this sphere. The juxtaposition of something so sci-fi looking in a small rural community is very striking!

Roughting Linn Rock Art submitted by TimPrevett on 25th Apr 2015. BBC Countryfile will have a feature with Roughting Linn on 3rd May 2015 - at least that's what they told us when we stumbled upon them filming there during the Easter Holidays. An emphasis on the sound at Rock Art sites in their feature explains the nice parabolic microphone!

Merrivale Menhir submitted by AngieLake on 10th Apr 2015. This shot shows the "smaller pillar" that Butler describes, in relation to the menhir and the cairn 6 pit. He says: "The menhir, 3.1 m high, still stands in its original position, 42 m almost due south from the centre of the stone circle.
