A beautiful popular monument lying in a factory area.
A Round Barrow, 13-15 m in diameter, enclosing an excavated passage grave.
Chamber is 5 m long in NNE-SSW, 2 m wide, 1.60 m high,
set of 4 carrying rocks at east, 4 against west, 1 to north and 2 against south.
No capstones on the chamber, but at the barrows north end we see a 2m rock.
Passage to the east is 2 m long and 0.75 m wide.

Situated in a rectangular grassy low pulpit.
The chamber is rounded in shape, oriented north-south
and consists of 5 upright carrying stones, and a loose fallen against the west.
A large capstone is shifted into the chamber, filling in part of this.
The stone is cleaved on the east side. At capstones north-eastern front at least 50 bowls.
Against NE seen a figure carved in stone, consisting of a ca. 2 cm wide furrow,
approx. 30x20 c...

Mårhøj Jættestue submitted by holger_rix on 2nd Aug 2011. One of the finest examples of the well preserved danish passage graves.
The biggest tomb of the island Fyn.
The beautiful passage grave Mårhøj lies on a natural hill and
therefore looks extra impressive. The 10 m long and about 2 m wide tomb
was excavated in 1868 by the local farm owner Sun.
He found some human bones and an amber bead as the only
remains of Neolithic burials.
In the corridor stood an urn with burnt bones, but it must have been
from the Late Bronze Age or per...

On a small flat-like mound stands a dolmen chamber.
Since the side stones are partly covered with ground, a detailed description of the chamber is not supplied.
In part on top of these 3 of 4 stones lies a capstone, which is 3.0 m long and 0.75 to 1.00 m thick.
Restored in 1957.

Log Text: Directly on the street and therefore not really perfect with the many cars that come by, but it was such a beautiful yet very pleasant morning, the light was great, the grass was mowed and the grave was very nice to look at.

Log Text: The grass was mowed around the graves and the access paths. So it's also worth a visit in the summer without meter-high grass and at the end full of ticks.
