In central south Sinai, there are old tombs from the 5th millennium BCE.
They are called NAWAMIS (plu.) Namus (sing.) by the Beduin. the door facing West is built from local sand stone.
According to prof. O. Bar-Yosef pre dinastic people believed that the soul departed to the west to under world. All the tombs in the main part of Egypt are to the west of the Nile.
