Carreg Wen Fawr Y Rugos Stone Row
Date Added: 26th Sep 2010
Site Type: Stone Row / Alignment
Country: Wales (Powys)
Visited: Yes on 22nd Apr 2010
Carreg Wen Fawr Y Rugos Stone Row submitted by AngieLake on 22nd Apr 2010. Looking approx SW towards the patch of dry grass where the stone row is situated. Straight up from the right side of this stone [which may be part of a processional way towards the row from the valley of the Usk River at Llangynidr], you'll see the small patch almost on the brow of the near horizon.
Above it is a shallow rise, upon which a cairn is situated. By dowsing, I also found a cairn on the slight rise to the left, where the near horizon meets the falling slope of the distant mountain...

St Lythans
Date Added: 26th Sep 2010
Site Type: Chambered Tomb
Country: Wales (South Glamorgan)
Visited: Yes on 19th Jul 2008

St Lythans submitted by AngieLake on 19th Jul 2008. The 'St Lythans Guardian'.
I first noticed the amazing (and quite spooky) human likeness of this stone in 2002, and it seems even more striking now, on a 2nd visit.
[The hole is the mouth, and two depressions where eyes would be. The rest of the 'body' is about right for size ratio. Was this intended, I wonder?]

Cae'r-hen-Eglwys submitted by AngieLake on 9th Aug 2006. SEM at Cae'r Hen Eglwys stones, giving a sense of scale. I'd been looking forward to seeing these for ages, so thanks a lot Simon! It would be good to explore the field when the undergrowth has died down.

Sem thinks it now lies under an industrial estate. I also found this possible link.
