Bellever Tor 2

Bellever Tor 2 submitted by AngieLake on 25th Nov 2009. This is a possible candidate for the 'circle' at SW of Bellever Tor. It's hard to tell, but this looked as if it was placed upright deliberately, and probably part of a cairn circle or hut circle. 10 Sept 09.

Barns Farm Dalgety Fife

Barns Farm Dalgety Fife submitted by AngieLake on 25th Sep 2008. This Spey Curragh, displayed at the Coracle Museum in Cenarth in Wales is similar to the type found re-used as a coffin at a site excavated in Fife in 1974, and believed to be Barns Farm, Dalgety. The photo [top] shows the info board with that intriguing information, and the photo bottom, the full-sized coracle on display.

Barnhouse Settlement

Barnhouse Settlement submitted by AngieLake on 22nd Jul 2010. This is the entrance to the largest building at Barnhouse, which was thought to have some ceremonial connection. [If the 'D' word can be used, I did find an amazingly symmetrical ritual movement inside and in the area outside the entrance, when dowsing.]

Bampfylde Hill Barrows submitted by AngieLake on 28th Sep 2009. Apologies for the quality of this photo, but it was snapped on my digi camera from a laminated file in South Molton museum, mostly as an aide memoire, thinking I'd find something online.. This wasn't to be!

Balnuaran Of Clava NE

Balnuaran Of Clava NE submitted by AngieLake on 20th Mar 2010. This is the stone near the NE cairn that I christened the '2001 Stone' after the monoliths in '2001- A Space Odyssey'. A crystal on this NE face gave me a strange sensation when I held my hand over it. In case anyone wants to check it out: I'd recorded it about 2/5ths of the way up from the ground, and about 1/3rd across the stone's width from the right. My plan shows it as kidney-shaped, or boomerang shaped [not quite 'crescent moon-shaped'!], concave/arc facing right. I'd guess it would ha...

Balnuaran of Clava Centre

Balnuaran of Clava Centre submitted by AngieLake on 16th Mar 2006. This is an intriguing stone, standing south of the central 'cairn' at Balnuaran of Clava Cairns near Inverness. It has a lovely pattern in its southern face, with one mark very like an 'eye'. I dowsed a ritual processional movement here that focussed on the 'eye'; the three causeways of the central 'cairn'; and moved clockwise around it, also acknowledging a stone at the east, before ending on the cobbles at the southern edge of the central space of the cairn.

Bachwen submitted by AngieLake on 24th Jul 2006. I vowed to visit this site after seeing one of Hamish's earlier pics. I took loads of photos in cloudy conditions, then, just before I was due to leave (about 6.30pm) the sun came out! Cue: a repeat performance and an expensive visit for me, using my non-digital cameras. This picturesque site is now one of my all-time favourite places, and I was very fortunate to have it all to myself for 2 hrs.

Avebury

Avebury submitted by AngieLake on 6th Jan 2006. This stone is near the ENE henge banks at Avebury. Though it's in the segment where the Cove stands, it is one of the furthest from that feature. As it was hot and sunny the day after Summer Solstice I made the effort to walk right around the banks barefoot and saw parts of Avebury that I didn't know existed.

Arminghall Henge

Arminghall Henge submitted by AngieLake on 8th Nov 2007. This plan caught my eye because of the horseshoe shape of the posts that used to stand in the centre of Arminghall. I wonder if the builders of Stonehenge were influenced by this site? In 'Circles & Standing Stones' by Evan Hadingham [1978 edition, where this pic was found], he says that the site is carbon-dated to 3400 BC.
