Truro Eastern District Centre Neolithic Enclosure

Truro Eastern District Centre Neolithic Enclosure submitted by Andy B on 8th Nov 2012. Initial findings from the excavations suggest the eastern end of the site may have been a ‘causewayed enclosure’ dating from the early Neolithic period (3800BC to 3600BC). Later activity on the site includes the deposition of Late Neolithic Grooved Ware in pits within the enclosure, one of which also contained a stunning piece of Neolithic art carved onto both sides of a slate disc.
