Klecken Langbett submitted by greywether on 9th Jul 2005. This is nice. Surrounded by the almost obligatory trees but allowing in a little more light than usual. The cairn edges are very clear as is the form of the chamber.

Inspired by an 1836 drawing of Pastor Diederich Harries,
this 'model' or replica has been set here in 2010.
There have been Long Barrows in this area, but there are no
remains.
One thing was very unusual about the drawing:
It shows a big single bolder set right in the middle of the barrow,
an oddly square shaped foundling.
The 60 x 7m barrow was build in almost exact east-west orientation.

Hagadösen submitted by cereus on 30th Jul 2004. Hagadösen is located on the island of Orust on the Swedish west coast. The dolmen is high placed in the landscape and during the stone age it was maybe 10 meters from the bay. The neighbourhood is full of remains from both stone and bronze age. Besides megalithic graves you can see cairns, mounds, rock carvings and grave fields.
Hagadösen was perhaps intended for only one person. The burial chamber consists of four standing stone slabs and a roof slab. Originally the dolmen was enclosed by a ...

Chamber measuring 18m by 2,5m-4,5m (clear: 15m by 1,2m -3m). Width maximum at the centre where the lateral passage is situated. Xaghra Circle submitted by enkidu41 on 5th May 2004. Also known as Brochtorff's Circle. The actual circle is about 120' in diameter. Only about 85' of the circumference still stands and is obscured by by soil pile up and thick vegetation. The rest of the circle is outlined by a modern wall. The feature shown here is the central excavation in which Herr Brochtorff supposedly found other megaliths including an altar-like structure. The remains are thought to be of a temple smaller than but similar to the nearby Ggantija temple.
