She is said to have risen from the foam at this location, reatively close to her temple. A local folktale has it that if you swim around the rock 3 times your lovelife/fertility will improve. In reality, the cult of Aphrodite did enter the Greek psyche via Cyprus as Phoenician traders brought the semitic Ashtarte (Ishtar) from the Middle east wherever they went.

Well-preserved and beautiful Burial Chamber, on top of the remains of a Round Barrow, surrounded by an almost complete row of mighty kerbstones. In a nice garden behind a private house. The mound ca. 1.1 to 1.2 x 15-16 m, in the middle the rectangular chamber with N-S orientation. Chamber was build with two stones in each of the sides, one to N, a threshold stone against S.
