Alexandra Águeda de Figueiredo (female). PhD in Archaeology and Prehistory by the Faculty of Letters, University of Porto (2007), Master in Computer Applications in Heritage, by Gotland University (2001), Degree in Archaeology, Faculty of Humanities , University of Coimbra (1999). Is Specialist in Prehistory and Underwater Archaeology. Participated in EU projects. Professionally an assistant professor from 2001-2009. Is professor at the Instituto Politécnico de Tomar (Portugal, IPT – Polytechnic Institute of Tomar) since 2010, and was Director of the Departmental Unit of Archaeology, Conservation and Heritage, until 2016. Responsible for the Laboratory of Archaeology, Conservation and Underwater Heritage in the Tomar Polytechnic Institute (Portugal) and collaborator in Laboratory of Applied Research in Natural Hazards. Coordinates postgraduate and master's degrees in Archaeology and Underwater Heritage since 2008. Responsible for numerous national and international projects in Archaeology and Heritage. Give lectures in the PhD degree in History and Archaeology in Autonomy Lisbon University and Salamanca University (Spain). Member of the I&D Unit of the Geosciences Centre – Group Quaternary and Prehistory, University of Coimbra – Faculty of Science and Technology (uID73). National representative in international association: the Scientific Committee on Theory and Methodology of Union Internationale des Sciences Préhistoriques et Protohistoriques – UISPP, coordinating sessions on costal and underwater archaeology; CAA international, and Director of CAAPortugal. Was invited by Agência Nacional para a Cultura Científica e Tecnológica (Portugal, National Agency for Scientific and Technological Culture) to represent the national women’s scientist and to be patent in the Permanent Exposition of Pavilion of Knowledge, in Lisbon.
