Description
Just off the Coast Road near West Mersea on Mersea Island, the well is well signposted and reached by a short footpath on board-walks across the marshes. Over protected by safety conscious bureaucrats - there is nothing to see but a wooden box and a bronze plate! Great location though.

All the years I have been to Mersea and I have never seen this!
