Description
AS Corpus Cross Canonby 04, a grave cover dating to the eleventh century. Also known as the St Lawrence Slab, the church leaflet says: "Found in the porch of the church. Note the figures of a man and above him a gridiron (probably the suggestion of martyrdom). The slab has been dated as early as the 6th century, but later opinion suggests it may be later". The Corpus dates it to the eleventh century. The figure can be found half way down the slab.
