Description
Venac Hillfort
From a Distance. This Bronze Age Hillfort of the Liburni Illyrians is unusual as it is one of the few in Croatia to be made out of a natural hill, with terraces and loose material for the main defensive wall seen here, which faces the plateau behind the fort. There is a serives of Tumuli behind the Hillfort, unfortunately all plundered by a local farmer in the 70's.
