Visited the 9 Ladies yesterday - beautiful location crossed with ancient pathways striding across Stanton Moor.
Whilst I agree totally with the aims and objectives of the protestors there, I found the atmosphere to be a bit scary and hostile - not the impression that will find favour with the general public.
After years of battling against the advances of commercial exploitation by Stancliffe Stone, I understand that it is difficult to maintain happy faces and a helpful and informative presentation to the public - but this is essential to maintain public support.
I wish every success to all those that work to protect our ancient heritage. We must use publicity as our ally not our enemy and this includes the impression that protestors impart to visitors - we need their support and if they understand what is at stake I feel sure they will be willing to give it.
