Re: The Old Stones - The new book from the Megalithic Portal by Beorwulf on Saturday, 08 September 2018

What a fabulous book! I really like the way the sites are indexed by region with colour-edged pages, it makes locating them very easy. I turned straight to our local area, between Matlock and Bakewell, and found all the sites had been covered. I thought our local rock-art had been omitted but sure enough it was mentioned in the write-up on a nearby stone circle.

The book came just in time for a weekend exploring part of Dartmoor with a group of ancient site loving Pagans. It proved to be portable, despite the size, and was admired by all. It was passed from person to person in the pub during one evening, with everyone looking at their local area and commenting favourably on the coverage.

I like the occasional comments and articles in boxes scattered among the site details. A lot of hard work has obviously gone into this and it deserves to be THE reference book for sacred sites. It will certainly enhance the pleasure of our explorations!
