I finally have my own gorgeous 'The Old Stones' and am really thrilled with it. It had arrived safely while I was away, despite being left beside my doorstep.
First impressions were:
The layout and colour-scheme is fab, and I'm surprised that with the use of such good quality paper it doesn't weigh more. It feels good to hold.
I'm looking forward to spending more time browsing through the pages properly, it really is a great book. Some of the photos are such high quality that I feel very humbled to have anything of mine included.
I don't travel around the country as much as I used to, but I can see those who do will find this gem invaluable.
Having a dedication by Mike Parker Pearson shows he recognised its quality and how important it will be over time.
I bet other authors or editors will be green with envy!
I can now brag about this super book to my friends, and have already told one, who rang this afternoon, while he was eagerly taking down the details!
Well done, Andy, you must be so proud of your achievement, as we all are of belonging to your wonderful website. I've always recommended the Megalithic Portal when bumping into people at sites, etc., and chuffed to think Jack Morris Eyton was one of them, back in 2002.
He'd have loved it! ... and we are so very grateful to you.
