Re: The Old Stones - ebook vs app by Andy B on Sunday, 02 September 2018

Hello Hesperides,
The ebook has the same content as the printed book, plus each of the thousand or so site listings has a link to our page and other sources of more detailed information. I'm finishing off the link checking at this very moment, which has taken rather a long time so it's not quite ready yet. We'll also be doing regional versions of the ebooks.

The iPhone and Android apps present our 'Megalith Map' in its entirety with every site, show your location in relation to where they are - making it much easier to find things. The site database downloads to your device so you can use it without a phone signal. When you have a data connection the apps access live data from the Portal for a photo and information on each one. The app includes the later sites and also all the countries we cover, whereas the books are UK and Ireland

So if you'd like a curated overview of the best sites - determined by a combination of data from the Portal, with final selections by our contributors from all over the country - along with interesting articles for background, then the book or ebook is for you - whereas the app gives you 'everything' much like the web site. The app comes free with our memberships, along with a 20% discount on the book.

More news on the ebooks soon, as I say we're still checking them!

Something is not right. This message is just to keep things from messing up down the road
