Touring and Hotel Choices near Cahokia Mounds, Illinois, and Genevieve, Missouri. by bat400 on Wednesday, 14 June 2017

For the Cahokia trip, I'd suggest we would meetup Sunday morning on August 20th and spend the day touring the museum and the sites in the immediate area, including a view of Rattlesnake Mound, connected to the main plaza of Cahokia by a raised causeway.

There are many budget priced hotels and motels in the area, in Collinsville, Casey, and O'Fallon Illinois. I do not recommend any of the three motels in Fairmount City, immediately west of the main Cahokia site.

On Monday, the day of the eclipse, we'd move down to the Ste. Genevieve area. If you'd wish to stay in Ste. Genevieve, the Microtel, may be the best hotel choice, but the Triangle Inn also gets good reviews.

Something is not right. This message is just to keep things from messing up down the road
