Very difficult Thorgrim, I,m faced with the same problem with two granite stones here, one at a Neolithic site here has
engravings on the dressed side which does correspond with distant peaks and a river, so its a map, the other at a Mesolithic site is blank, but with one side smoothed over, my interpretation is that it was used for cleaning skins. Arthur, Burbage, Leic,s.
