It strikes me that this is a southern problem.
I visited Machry moor stone circles on the summer solstice on the Isle of Arran,Scotland and there was not one person in attendance.
Avebury is a comfortable distance from London and Bristol and ideal for urbanites to visit the country and do a bit of meditation at the site then return home to the city and go back to the drab life of the rat race as a solicitor or manager at a dead end company.
