'pravda' means truth & in Soviet times there was another newspaper called Izvestia (news), & there was a saying then that there is no pravda (truth) in Izvestia & no izvestia (news) in Pravda. You did not say it too often as if reported you would as likely as not get 10 years in the Gulag, which was no fun.
