I too was a student at Hull college from 1974-77 and had the privilege of having Aubrey as one of my lecturers. A truly wonderful chap and superb lecturer. He managed to get me on a dig in France with Ian Stead in 76 & 77. Just picked up the phone and said,"Ian, I have a fellow here who would olive to come on the France dig in the summer? Highly recommend him, is that ok?" Along with another great lecturer at college, Dougie Bridger, he made my course, Evolution & Prehistory an utter delight.
