A great day and a great achievement for the Rollright Trust!
Not only a new path (allowing disabled access) to the Whispering Knights, but a new path along the main road as well. A larger viewing area at the Knights and a new information board about them. Such a pity the end of the afternoon was marred by 'King Arthur Pendragon'.
What started as a gentle ceremony organized by the Cotswold Druid Order (apologies if I haven't quite got their name right), was hijacked by this w*nker (his own self-proclaimed name for himself not mine) which ended in him stomping out of a circle of some forty-odd people who were there, hand-in-hand, to respect the solstice and the achievements of the Rollright Trust. There were also a few other people, neither pagans nor Druids nor anything else in particular, who had joined the ceremony and the celebrations in good faith only to be shouted at by this self-appointed 'king'.
I wonder how many people there, who may otherwise have been attracted to 'the old ways', were completely turned off (perhaps irrevocably) by the words and actions of this drunken and arrogant fool? If he reads these words he would do well to apologise to those gathered at Rollright yesterday and then to perhaps seek help for what seems to be a serious alcohol problem.
