Re: Full laser scan for Stonehenge by AngieLake on Tuesday, 09 October 2012

The results of the recent 3D laser scanning of Stonehenge are beginning to emerge.
Several newspapers are reporting on the findings today:

and

and the Mail has one of the more illustrated reports:

I can't wait to see if they've proved the importance of Stone 16 in the SW of the sarsen circle, which I've been banging on about now for six years, since seeing the inverted 'V' shape on the inner face in photos taken at dawn on 6th Dec 2006, and noticing the other features of this stone.. namely the 'spine' effect on the outer face, and the pregnant belly shape of the stone when viewing it from SE to NW.
We already know the NW [side] face was 'adzed' like wood, from many photos printed over the years.

One mention in today's reports was that stones in the SW of the outer circle were carefully shaped along their sides to allow the setting sun to shine through into the circle, something I'd also noticed about Stone 16.
I felt it was the feminine fertility partner to (possibly 'male') Stone 15 when that stone stood, both adjacent to the SW-NE axis, and part of ceremonies at Winter Solstice.

Some quick links to photos to illustrate my theory:

Another feature I noticed in photos from 6th Dec 2006:

Also, the 'sun-dagger', could have been caused by enhancement of a natural feature on the opposite side of the circle?:

Something is not right. This message is just to keep things from messing up down the road
