Talking about Cumbria, there is an excellent movie talking about Cumbria green axes and their influence from alpines axes. The DVD is called "Les Montagnes Néolithiques".
The director is Rob Hope, a Scottish living in France and you can see the movie here : http://robhopefilms.com/robhopefilms.html
But I am not sure if the movie does exist in english !
