All the scientific group disproving this has done has provide some possible theory of their natural formation. This is not evidence based and they are clearly not conducting or allowing the most obvious way to come to a conclusive end to this question, which would be to simply excavate...that's fishy. Now throw in the fact that almost every counter argument to this man's claim is a personal attack or some clearly suggestive and ridiculous article highlighting increased economic prosperity of the region as a result, and I think it is obvious that something isn't right.
