actually more likely than not it was stolen for the garden: it does happen. there are gazillions of these stones lying around all over Ireland.
However let me point out that this stone went missing in Northern Ireland: there rules governing removal of monuments in the republic are much tougher, with stiff penalties and fines. Northern Ireland is governed byu whatever rules apply to british monuments
