1) Why would it be so important to predict tides years ahead?
2) Even today if you buy tide prediction tables they are only a guide, storms, atmospheric pressure, wind direction all interfere with the actual height of tide
3) Extremely difficult to measure height of tide accurately
4) Why not just use the phases of the moon as loads of fishermen do to this day?
5) It is quite easy to remember the tides at a certain place with a certain phase of the moon
I am very sceptical about this theory
