Is this a photography competition, or a photoshop competition. I realise there is a very blurry line between the 2, with a fair bit of overlap in digital camera's, but just how far can "enhancement" go. Given the amazing things that can be done with software now, it is quite possible to produce a striking image that is more fantasy than reality, but still qualify as a photograph.
I'm not critisising photoshop, as I use it myself to resize and "tweak" a few things etc. But my photoshop skills are very basic, like my photography skills, and I'm not really up to making much of an improvement to an original image. I suspect that this is true of most people who contribute on here.
So I guess I'd like to know which is the most important, the final image, or the source image, and how much distance can there be between the 2? The rules as they are don't clarify this.
