this book is appalling! It wrongly quotes Jim Leary the site director on the 2007/8 Silbury conservation project as Dr Jim Cleary and misquotes Dave Fields.
Mr Dames seems to have got his latest info from a google search and never got in touch with anyone on the EH project during the entire 2 years that the project was at work.
He repeates mistakes made by the press and doesn't appear to have read the sources he quotes such as the Drax letters.
If he Has read them then he is deliberately deceiving his readers.
Dames book seems like a rushed attempt to beat the official book by Leary & Fields book which is due to be published in October.
