That's just the sort of feedback I hoped for..
I just wanted to see if anyone else thought it looked a likely place for a larger complex of various monuments.
Dartmoor is full of this sort of thing (though I don't recall seeing many quartz stones like that), but here the fields have been established for a while, and most is cleared away.
That stone on the pile of cleared rocks has an unusual wavy shape.
On the next rise north of the Cist (through the gateway where we parked) is another interesting outcrop of rocks which we didn't look into.
It might be a good idea to have a section on 'possible sites', as you suggested frogcottage42.
The other one I put forward recently, with the possible holed portal stone at Archerton Newtake, near Postbridge, would be eligible for that category too!
Anyway, if they did turn out to be important, we can say: 'You saw it here first!'
(And I didn't even mention Stonehenge, Andy...!) ;-)
