Another chance for people to be in the right place at the wrong time. The moment of Solstice this year is 23.59 on the 20th therefore the 20th is the longest day. The sunrise on the 20th is the magical moment - not the 21st. As I don't go anywhere near Stonehenge for the Summer Solstice (as it is almost completely full of drunken idiots damaging the stones - a complete contrast to the Equinoxes that I will attend for the rest of my life) - I am not going to talk to English Heritage to tell them the error of their ways - I shall leave that for someone else to sort out. My guess is that most visitors do not really understand the implications and that they will happily squeeze in on the 21st. Knowledge is everything . . .
