The Crystal Skulls are 'officially' forgeries, with some of them said to be manufactured in Germany in the 1800's, but there is one major flaw in that hypothesis. They date them from the time when spinning-wheels must have been used to make such a neat polish on the surface, a date relating to the 1800's onwards. But when we take another look at ancient Egyptian artifacts, we see the same kind of techniques and clues in the pieces themselves that date back over 5000 years . Quartz crystal cannot be dated by carbon testing or any other methods, so archaeologists only presume that they cannot be older than 200 years because that known technology did not officially exist before then. The most famous and beautifully carved is the Mitchell-Hedges skull, with other skulls at the British Museum and in Paris.
Crystal experts from HP laboratories found that the skull had been carved against the natural axis of the crystal. Modern crystal sculptors do not carve "against the grain," otherwise the piece could shatter, even with the use of lasers and sophisticated cutting methods. HP could find no microscopic scratches on the crystal suggesting it was not carved with steel instruments. The experts suggested that it was "roughly hewn out with diamonds, and then the detail work was meticulously done with a gentle solution of silicon sand and water". But this would have taken over 300 years to complete! They concluded that successfully crafting a shape as complex as the Mitchell-Hedges skull is "impossible", or as one HP researcher is said to have remarked, "The damned thing simply shouldn't be."
Granite is 55% quartz, therefore extremely hard, but in ancient Egypt vessels were cut, shaped and polished by minute super-fast blades and sanders, using perhaps diamond cutters and spinning wheels. Similar to the clues from the Mitchell-Hedges skull. Christopher Dunn, an engineer for 30 years concluded that they must have had advance machining techniques in antiquity, and the current theory that they used copper tools is absurd when dealing with rock as hard as granite. But it is not only Egypt that precision crystal cutting was in operation. Professor Robert Temple discovered that magnifying lenses, telescopes, and optical surveying techniques existed from the time of Old Kingdom Egypt, with magnifying crystals known even in Predynastic times, circa 3300 BC. Over 400 ancient optical artifacts that were precision-ground or cast have been discovered all over the world by Professor Temple and some of them looked to have been worked by modern machining.
The mystery of the crystal skulls simply cannot be tucked away as German fakes. Modern science, nor Egyptologists accept the 'rock solid' facts that precision stone and crystal work were present in the megalithic era. http://www.megalithomania.co.uk
